Barb Wilson has discussed the 2009 calendar for Mainstreet Center with Kelly Kuper (Town of Parker).

The following dates and themes can be penciled in on your calendar.   

Themes:

“From Inspiration to Creation”  January 21 to March 25 (pick-up - 8:30 a.m. - noon). Reception January 28 (6:00 - 8:00 p.m.)  Artists are to include the inspiration for their works of art which will be displayed along with each piece; i.e. a photo reference, a written paragraph telling of the inspiration, a poem, another work of art, etc.

“Duets”  March 25 to May 27 (pick-up - 8:30 a.m. - noon). Reception April 1 (6:00 - 8:00 p.m.) Pick a partner, and get creative using the same reference.

No shows during June, July and August.

“Artist’s Choice” September 23 to October 28 (pick - up - 8:30 a.m. - noon). Reception September 30 (6:00 - 8:00 p.m.)

“Miniature Show” October 28 to December 16 (pick-up - 8:30 a.m. - noon). Reception November 4 (6:00 - 8:00 p.m.) Maximum dimensions including frame 10 in. x 10 inches.

• There will be no “Images of Parker” show in 2009.
• Starting in 2010 there will probably be some changes since the Town of Parker wants to make the Mainstreet Center more profitable.  This probably means we will have fewer shows and/or our shows will be up for one month instead of two.

Receptions for the following shows are scheduled for the dates indicated below. All will be held from 06:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Please contact Barb Wilson if you can help the Mainstreet Gallery Committee organize and set-up these receptions.

 Wednesday, January 28; “From Inspiration to Creation.”

Wednesday, April 1; “Duets.”

Wednesday, September 30; “Artist’s Choice.”

Wednesday, November 4; “Miniature Show.”

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS WITH THESE IMPORTANT DATES.

Revised Membership Application and Waiver forms are now available and may be viewed or printed by clicking on pag_member_app2009.

Annual dues for 2009 are payable by no later than January 31, 2009.  When renewing membership or applying as a new member please be sure and complete the 2009 - Member Waiver Form.

PAG members have an opportunity to exhibit their work at the Roxborough Firehouse Gallery throughout the coming year.  For complete information on how to qualify go to the link to the Roxborough Arts Council (RAC) website on this PAG website home page.

Basically one has to apply for a Portfolio Membership ($25 annual fee). See below.

Here are the two different memberships available for RAC.

Associate Membership
Cost: $15 annually**
This is a membership open to all artist/non artist.
Benefits:
Participate in monthly meetings
Invitation to receptions
Discount on entry fees
Discount on workshops

Portfolio Membership
Cost: $25 annually**
This is an exclusive membership only granted upon portfolio interview and jury by board members. *
Benefits:
All the benefits of the Associate Membership
Access to exhibit your art at the Firehouse Gallery
Access to promotion in our online gallery

*An open portfolio interview is held 30 minutes before every monthly meeting.
**Membership fees are applied to the current calendar year. Those membership fees collected after November 1 will be applied to the following calendar year.

Once you have decided which membership you would like you can apply in person or by email. Here are instructions for both.

In person:
Our next meeting is 11/12/08 in the Firehouse Gallery at the Roxborough West Metro Fire Station at 7pm. If you would like to become an Associate Member you can bring a check made to Roxborough Arts Council. If you would like to become a Portfolio Member, please bring a sampling of your work a half hour before the meeting for a board interview. The Roxborough Fire Station is located next to the entrance of Roxborough State Park, 4751 Roxborough Drive, Littleton, CO 80125.

To become a Portfolio Member you can email a sampling of your work to membership@roxartscouncil.org.  The board will then jury the work and send you a letter of acceptance or denial. You are only obligated to pay the Portfolio Membership dues if you receive a letter of acceptance.

Change Outs: Every other month, on the first Friday of the month.  Please check the PAG website calendar for exact dates!  Next change-out is Friday, December 5, at 9:00 a.m.

Art Size Limit: You may bring up to 4 pieces, 2 if they are very large. All art has to be ready to hang with wire hangers and it is an open theme. Remember it is a family oriented venue. 20% commission beginning April 1st, artist direct sales. $3 hanging fee. Assorted subject matter.
