BV Scroll Art began as nothing more than a hobby. Several years ago, founder Bruce Vanderpool was given a gift card with which he obtained his first scroll saw. In his spare time, he learned the art of crafting intricate pieces for the purpose of giving them away as gifts to friends and family. As the pieces grow in detail and intricacy, several people suggested to create a business out of it – thus BV Scroll Art was created.

My baskets, gourds and other creations frequently get an embellishment or two as finishing touches. These add whim and fancy to the work, but provide symbolism as well. The fetishes, I suppose, are obvious, but the leather, antler, wood, glass, clay and metal beads, feathers, shells, sweet grass, and horsehair all serve to help me honor nature and life spirits through my work.
